The New Year’s Resolutions have started.
There is a glimmer in someone’s eye as they state the infamous:
I will finally (insert goal here). This year it will work.
I don’t like New Year’s Resolutions.
I feel they follow an “all or nothing” mentality that is a set up for failure.
I lost 110 lbs in 2013.
I started in April of that year.
It was not a New Year’s Resolution or any type of resolution for me to lose weight. It was an acceptance of who I was and where I was at that point of my life. It was a belief that I could become a better, healthier version of myself.
Resolutions have always felt like threats on a timeline to me, yet when I lost weight, I never felt threatened or like I was following the agenda of a resolution .
In this time of the “all or nothing” mentality of the New Year that is upon us… I urge you to look within yourself and accept and love who you are today so that if and when there is something you want to change, you’ll be ready. 🙂
Hope should not be in a resolution.
Faith should not be in a time of year.
Self worth should not be measured in an “all or nothing” mentality.
Acceptance should be your starting point. ❤
A better YOU through attainable goals is where your hope and faith can be restored.
Truth supersedes the wrath of our measure.
